About Me (NEW!)
So who am I?
Well, a short answer would be: “I’m a twenty-something who moved to Toronto a few years ago to work in the communications industry.” Let’s stick with that for now.
Whatcovered? (or: So what’s in a name anyway?)
The idea for my domain/blog name stemmed from an old e-mail address I picked in high school. The reference here is a spin on the practice of pulling the wool over a person’s eyes. I’d summarize the musings that lead to the choice, but right now I would simply say that labelling my blog with the term is an expression (and personal reminder of) my own naivety.
I’m blogging purely for fun; partially as a way to continue writing about the hobbies/interests that aren’t indulged through the professional writing I do. That said, the entries I enjoy writing most are where my hobbies dovetail with my professional interests: I work in marketing and love music and digital media, so I suppose it’s only logical that I’m interested in innovative ways musicians are marketing their art online.
Aside from music, some other interests you may see reflected in the entries include technology (video games, gadgets, new/social media) and health (fitness, cleaner eating). I still love reading the cultural studies books that I used to study during my undergraduate years, though I find I have less and less time to read them these days.
Here’s where you can find me (dataveillance be damned!):
